Cultured Beans and Grains for Flavor and Nutrition

Discover the unique flavors and learn about the health benefits of fermented beans and grains with Tara at Eugene’s annual Fun with Fermentation Festival. This quick course will get you started with how to make cultured oatmeal, miso, and tempeh at home. The festival runs from 11 AM to 4 PM and is packed full of tasty and fun fermenty things to see and do. You can catch Tara’s class from 2:15 to 3:15 PM in Room 105.

The 8th Annual Fun with Fermentation Festival will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 11am to 4pm at Lane Community College’s Downtown Campus. This day-long event is devoted to educating people about fermentation and other forms of food preservation. This is also the Willamette Valley Sustainable Food Alliance’s biggest fundraising event of the year.

Admission asks a donation of $10 or $5 and two cans of food per person. Free admission for 12 and under.

The event will include:
• Complimentary samples from food and fermentation vendors
• Complimentary fermentation demonstrations
• Meals featuring fermented foods
• Raffle
• Kid zone
